 Our organization, representing all unincorporated Adams County citizens and business owners, has engaged an experienced law firm to protect our rights and we need your help!

Sean Gallagher, from Polsinelli and Shughart (www.polsinelli.com) represented us at the Board of County Commissioners Meeting on April 29th.
It was a great success. Hundreds of concerned citizens showed up to voice their opposition to the illegal tax.

Please share this site with anyone and everyone you know in Unincorporated Adams County (i.e. Friends, Neighbors, HOA presidents, HOA email contact lists, HOA management companies, Schools, Businesses, Churches, Non-Profits, etc).  The more people we can keep informed and educated regarding this unnecessary (and illegal) storm water fee, the better chance we have of getting this fee (ie. tax) repealed.

The Adams County Colorado Board of Commissioners recently approved the formation of a Stormwater Utility for unincorporated Adams County.

This means that you will be charged a "fee" for the amount of rain or snow that falls on your roof and driveway. This fee will show on your property tax bill. (They are calling it a fee, we think it is really a tax being imposed without voter approval).

If you live in unincorporated Adams County, you WILL be affected by this tax and should get involved in our efforts to defeat and eliminate it.

Adams County commissioners cap stormwater fees temporarily

Adams County has temporarily converted its controversial new stormwater fee to a flat rate and will convene a citizens advisory panel in response to a rush of opposition and threats of litigation.

SSUA feels this resolution is drafted as a "temporary" appeasement to quiet the crowd.  Once citizens are no longer engaged in the process, the commissioners will have "free reign" to elevate the fee structure back to pre-determined levels or higher.
